Technical

It takes around 1 to 2 weeks to lay a Speedway Track at a venue. Elements that have an impact on the time are, location, type of track and of course, the stadium, with the weather being a further possible consideration.

The Facts
Tracks must be between 260 and 450 metres (850 and 1500 ft) in length


The minimum track width is 10 metres (33 ft) on the straights and the bends must be at least 14 metres (46 ft) wide

 

 

Track-Laying

Laying a speedway track at a stadium takes a team of dedicated specialists with the correct equiipment and years of hands-on experience. GSI track-specialists can provide just that.

GSI has been responsible for preparing a number of world class speedway tracks and has been responsible for laying the Grand Prix Speedway Tarck at the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff.

The Event

GSI provide an experience team of track experts and equipment that manage and maintain GP Standard Tracks during the course of a meeting.

Equipment required includes a number of Tractor units with specialist attachments that offer the track crew a number of options to address any track-side issues before and during a meeting.
